Classic TV - The Beverly Hillbillies
Today we post a rare color shot of the cast of the Beverly Hillbillies. This classic TV series is still playing in syndication on cable. It ran from 1962 to 1971 on CBS. From the Wikipedia article. "The Hillbillies themselves were Buddy Ebsen as the widowed patriarch Jed "J.D." Clampett; Irene Ryan as his ornery mother-in-law, Daisy May "Granny" Moses; Donna Douglas as his curvaceous, tom-boy daughter Elly May Clampett; and Max Baer Jr as Jethro, the brawny, half-witted son of his cousin Pearl Bodine."

Humphrey Bogart in The Big Sleep (1946)
This portrait from our collection is from a crisp 4X5 chrome. It's one of our favorites. The colors are bright and vibrant and could have been taken yesterday. This was shot during the filming of "the Big Sleep" in 1946. He played detective Philip Marlowe in the first film of what would become an acclaimed series of detective films. Bogart's co star in the film was his wife Lauren Bacall. This shot was taken during a break in the shooting of the film..

Easter Edition - King of Kings (1961)
Since today is Easter we thought we would put up a thematic photo from our archive at Personalityphotos.com. This is a color shot of the scene of the last supper in the film "king of Kings" in which Jesus (Jeffrey Hunter) with his back to the camera hands out the bread of the Passover meal to his disciples. This photo is interesting both because of the symmetry and the way the Last Supper scene is laid out. The film used to a be rerun staple on television for many years, especially during the Easter season when it would be shown.

Dogs in Films Series - Bullet and Roy Rogers
Roy Rogers is the iconic American cowboy of the post WW II generation and one of the first to move from Movies to Television. His more famous animal companion and co star was of course his horse Trigger. But his light colored German Shepherd Bullet was also a star in his own right having starred in over 100 films. Roy had both animals taxidermied after they died and were at his museum for quite some time before being sold at auction last year. This shot from our collection in our archives at personalityphotos.com was used in various comic book covers and posters.
